Outgoing President Fu-Gui reports

My fellow Rotarians,

The 2015/2016 Rotary year comes to an end today, Thursday 30th June 2016. The year has gone by quickly and we have done our best to be of service to our community. Here is a summary of events that have transpired

On the membership front, the club has seen a total increase in 4 new members. Our current membership stands at 32. I look forward to the enthusiasm & energy these new Rotarians will bring into our club over the next few years. I would like to commend the efforts of Membership chair PP MC Cheong for his continued efforts in expanding our club.

Community Service: Assumption Pathway School was adopted as a beneficiary this year and a charity movie event has been planned in order to aid deserving students of the school pursue their studies. This is currently an on-going project with a view of completion in the coming Rotary Year. In addition to this 50 pre-loaded cash cards were distributed to needy families via the Loving Hearts Multi Service Centre in Jurong.

Club administration: Thanks to contributions from PP Patrick Chan and PP Prof.Leo Tan, we have had a steady stream of guest speakers and multiple fireside meetings this year. The topics covered have ranged from medical issues such as heart disease to domestic topics such as city planning & Singapore’s future. I am also happy to announce that attendance for weekly lunch meetings have been very good averaging close to 70% of total membership every week.

International service: The highlight of this Rotary year has been the establishment of new sister-club, namely the Rotary Club of San Juan, District 3800, from Manila, Philippines. In November of 2015 a delegation of Rotarians from our free robux no human verification club visited RC San Juan and this was reciprocated with a visit from them in February 2016. An official sister-club agreement was signed on Tues 23rd February 2016 at the Tanglin Club. I look forward to annual projects in the

future as a result of this new collaboration. I would like to thank PPs Ho Soo Yong, Andrew Tan and Edna Ko who made the entire visit & formalities very successful.

Vocational & Youth service: Both Vocational & Youth segments have traditionally been the strong suites of our club and this year has been no different. The highlight for the year was the annual vocational guidance workshop which was hosted by the Interact Club of Pioneer Junior College. Close to 9 vocations were represented and the interactors from all three schools that we oversee (Anglo Chinese Junior College, Pioneer Junior College and Jurong Junior College) found it very informative and helpful. In addition to this the Interactors have been attending various Rotary sponsored workshops both in Malaysia & Singapore this year. I would like to acknowledge the hard work & dedication put in by PPs Andrew Tan and Ronald Wee in this matter.

In closing I would like to personally thank all the members of my Board who have dedicated their time & effort to make this year successful despite their busy schedules. A special mention goes out to my secretary PP Edna Ko, treasurer PP Patrick Lim and Seargent-at-arms Dr.John Lim for their unwavering support.

I wish our President Elect Rtn.Ingmar Burgdart and all of you a successful new year ahead.
