We enrich ourselves when we give back to the society
LOCAL COMMUNITY SERVICE
Since its inception, Rotary Club of Jurong Town has undertaken many community service projects benefiting a wide spectrum of the community, both locally and internationally. For several years, we provided on a regular basis, meals for an old folks homes and assistance to the hearing impaired students at the Boon Lay Secondary School. Annually we recognize committed workers in several professions including bus drivers, teplephone operators and nurses. We donated an ambulance for the Home Nursing Foundation. We jointly organized The Home Nursing Foundation / Rotary Club Jurong Town Nurse of the Year Award annually for 13 years consecutively.
YOUTH OUTREACH
The Rotary club of Jurong Town is also heavily involved with youth outreach programs. We support Interact Clubs from ITE Balestier; Anglo Chinese and Jurong Junior colleges in Singapore and have undertaken joint youth projects with them. Annually, we conduct career guidance seminars forthe youth, provide scholaships to primary school students. bursary awards to tertiary institutions and through our Education Fund, we provide interest free financial assistance loans to polytechnic students
